Guest guest
That's excellent! I sooo love the science channel, too ;-) Too bad my Aspie (12) is now hooked into some complex strategy games. I worry he will miss out on too much. At least if there's a job opening for conquering whole galaxies using starwars ships and stuff, he'll make it big. It quickly got to the point where he could beat it easily so the challenge is how fast or how much playing around while beating it.
Guest guest
My kids have a friend who is obsessed with history. He doesn't have asperger syndrome but he's definitely spectrumy. He has sensory integration dysfunction and anxiety. When he comes over, if they watch TV and he gets the remote he puts on the history channel. That drives my daughter crazy. , my aspie, is usually playing on his computer. LOL. But his highest grades are in social studies. > > I love it. > > My 8yo son is the oldest of 6 and he gets to control the remote if dad's not home. He will always choose Science channel over cartoons and it drives the rest of the kids nuts. But I love it, because it is educational and his younger brother who complains the most about it just got his yearly standardized test back and science was what he scored highest in. So, like it or not, he has been learning! Asperger's certainly has it's up-sides. > > " How it's Made " is his favorite TV show. > > >

Guest guest
Even funnier: If I ask about the weather, he usually gives me chapter and verse on the next 5 day forecast, any major tornado activity in the US as well as any volcano activity in the world. so the other day, I came down the stairs and wondered what the weather would be like that day. naturally, I ask my weather bug, " What's the weather like today? " and he pauses, looks out the window and says, " It's raining, mom. " I almost fell over laughing. duh. lol. Roxanna Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again. Guest guest
Oh man, that was funny, You know, you reminded me of something though. The strengths they have are really a silver lining. Imagine if you had all the quirks and no strengths. I hope that I can continue to encourage those strengths, even when they make me nutty. > > > > Science is at least interesting.
