Guest guest
The thing about sensory is the mouth is that you have three senses working in tangent that can create various combination sensations. Not only that, but when you chew food, you change it's texture and " feel " . Some foods change in texture can be more disturbing than others. Then you take how powerful sense of smell can affect foods. Our sense of smell is half the reason we can taste anything in the first place. It's important to encourage trying new things, but be prepared for rejection. In many cases we must grow to endure and it takes us longer to do that (with a wider group of foods) than the average or typical person. On the subject of denial, autism is highly controversial because of lack of education and gross mis-education on what it's all about. Parents wind up getting blamed for bad parenting that didn't happen or it's called a sham by big pharma companies. It's going to take time for proper education to kick in and help our families be accepted by society properly all the way across. Hang in there!
