Guest guest
I have been speaking to someone that is affiliated to a publisher. i had mentioned i would love to write a childrens book about children with aspergers or higher funtioning autism. i would like to call the book " i like freinds too " i would like to write it on the perspective (or at close as i can come) of a child with asperger that doesnt have many freinds because other children think he is differentand dont want to be freinds. i wanted to make the point that, just because they look like other children doesnt mean they can act like other children. but the moral is, they still have feelings, and need good freinds that can understand. i feel if there were books out there like that, then maybe teachers could read them to younger classes to start them on the understanding that not everyone has to be the same to be freinds. i would like feedback on this idea. my brother is a fantastic artist and especially cartoonist, and would consider doing all of the illustrations. but i was actually toying with the idea of having other aspie children draw all of the pictures of them participating in the book , even including how it makes them sad if someone is unkind to them. does anyone have any comments ?
