Guest guest
Hi, I'm looking for a planner for my son. He is going into a new school and 6th grade. Since it's all new, I'm assuming he will be more disorganized to start out. I would like to get him a really good planner for school. Any ideas, any that would for your children? His old school gave them out, this one does not Bobbie in NJ
Guest guest
My son is the same way too. I got him a binder and put in divider. I label each divider in the order: Class, Room, Time. I also, included one for papers for parents. We have issues with getting information. He tends to shovel everything in his desk or forget it. He started 6th grade also. To ease the transition, we designed a map of his school and label each class period and also printed his schedule. He liked it and has helped him to move around. Guest guest
I don't have a particular one in mind, since the one I liked has apparently gone out of business. http://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.com/2008/07/whats-up-hello-friend-student-\ planner.html But I would say look for one that has a place to check off when assignments have been completed, and look for one that has extra space to plan projects out, usually on a side bar or below or both. Those are the two extras that many elementary/middle school planners don't have that are needed. You don't want to sacrifice plenty of writing space for assignments either--and make sure there are enough rows for all their classes. Some things that were important for my middle-school Aspergerite was having a binder big enough to hold 3-hole punched folders for each class. I gave my son double folders for each class (color-coded, as much for the teachers as for him) since he didn't like using the rings. He has DCD; may not be a problem if your son does not. He insisted on keeping everything in one big binder, so I had to experiment to find as durable of folders as possible--some are thicker and more durable than others of course. I also had to be ready with replacement folders and binders.
