Guest guest
This show needs to do a couple things to keep me as a loyal fan. Make the kid likeable (should be done easily) and not making him the butt of every joke (hopefully it will be done). Recognize the difficulties such a kids faces, even the painful ones like bullying and social isolation (which it looks like it will do). Have the dad take a swing at his (sorry... his grandpa looks ignorant so far). Oh... and plenty of tickles! (Anyone here that knows me knows that I believe aspie kids must be tickled on a regular basis to keep from getting goofballcitis). Guest guest
I think we need to give the show a chance ... one of the producer's son's has aspergers so at least we know it's coming from a real place and not just from research ... we also know that meeting one kid with aspergers is one kid with aspergers so while I hope I see things that resonate -- I'm willing to accept that some things won't ... Not to mention, it's a series with a lot of characters and I'm sure over time we'll see lots of ways for the dx to play out. i read that the kid is lured into a baseball game because they promise him a milkshake afterwards ... I'm interested to see how that plays out afterward .. because I've done that (not with baseball) and seen my son immediately request the goody - with know acknowledgment of what he just achieved... just the all business - can we get my milkshake now. > > > This show needs to do a couple things to keep me as a loyal fan.
