Hi guys

I would like to hear your comments on this as our 5 year old son also has to

have music playing at night, and only one particular cd (luckily not only one

song) with classical music for babies. We also played it to him when he was a

baby - he had colic and the music seemed to help him sleep. Now at age 5 he can

go without it, like when we have power failures, but before he would have huge

tantrums if the music stopped.

Thanks for this question , I never thought about it before! Just did what

he wanted!

I wish it was only music. My Aspie son and spd daughter both need the tv on to

fall asleep. I always said my kids would never have a tv in thier room until I

discovered that was the only way they could fall asleep. We tried everything

else including music, meletonin, fans, patting their backs. I don't like them

having a tv on, but it works and they need to sleep. Keep the music, it can't

hurt.

I hear you!!!

I, too, swore that MY kids would never have a tv in their room, either.. he he.

Ya know what, though? My kids will have their tv time set for 1 hour or whatever. Then,,,,,if I go check on them, most of the time, they will be asleep or, if awake, turned the other way and falling asleep. It's "white" noise to them most of the time, I think.

Obviously,,,,,sometimes,,,,they just want to watch tv. Heck.....I do too.

But,,,,,it gets them in bed,,,,,,calming down,,,,,,,,,chatting with each other at times,,,,,,,and is just providing some quiet noise that allows them to relax.

Who cares, now, what we USED to think or what the "experts" think!!! He he.

The "experts" told "me" to let my kids cry themselves to sleep, too. I NEVER did. And they all survived. I let my kids sleep with us when they wanted. No questions asked. They also survived this.

Oh well..........,

We all do what works for us....and we need to follow ONLY THAT!!!!!

Have a super day!!!!
