Guest guest
Hello Barbara, Thank you for responding to my post. I/we appreciate your help greatly. >the only >logical thing is for you to relocate. I know how >tight the housing market >is, but staying where you are will only lead to more >illness, possibly >death - especially where older family members are >concerned. Yes. We understand this. In the case of my brother, he nearly died. Though he is young, he is now immunocomprimised because of his health condition. We are attempting to find someplace to go as of current. It is difficult considering our financial situation, however, and the high housing costs in Hawaii. But we will do what is in the best of our ability. >I have written several e-mails to various people I know on Oahu asking for their input and will let you know when I hear back. Thank you. >>> You might want to call the Department of Health and ask if there is an investigator assigned to indoor air quality and health issues. My mother has already done this and she was told that our situation does not fall under the investigator's jurisdiction because we are renters in a condo. He did send us several papers and pamplets on toxic molds, etc in homes, and how to clean them up, however, in our case many of these cannot be cleaned up by ourselves since we are renters (celing would have to be redone, whole kitchen cabnet on floor-side is rotted). Also, none of these have helped us to figure out what is going on in our specific case, and also it did not have any information on what we can do/what action we can take/what options we have. >I noted the EPA lists Barbara , phone: 808/586-4249, e-mail: bbrooks@e... as working with PCB toxins. She might know who you can contact. Thank you. Anne __________________________________________________
