Oh been there done that. Eventually I just let him sleep with me until he was

11. He just couldn't handle the night terrors and I was too tired to be up all

night too.

My son also has night terrors. He also slept with us until he was almost11. He doesn't seem to wake me up as much as he used to. There has been a few nights of sleep walking. From: doodlebugboodles@... <doodlebugboodles@...>Subject: Re: ( ) Waking up in the middle of the night.... Date: Monday, February 8, 2010, 3:43 AM

My son was doing the same thing. I just always tried to get him to talk about what was making him so afraid. He wasn't sure what it was. I found putting him in our small office room on a top bunk bed really helped for some reason. It's right next to our room and I think the closeness of the room really made a difference. Maybe that would work for your son if you have a smaller room. Please let me know. Good Luck! From: bucaroobonzai2003 <ssernaker@...>Subject: ( ) Waking up in the middle of the night.... He he.

That's what we always did. Told em to come on in.

It really is simple. Just treat others kindly and with respect.

Thanks. Sounds like a plan. I think part of the problem might be that we need

a bigger bed (either in his room or our room). We've got a small house so space

is at a premium, but sleep trumps it.

My son used to have that problem as well, he would fall asleep fine, but wake up by 2 am ish and it was horrible. Now he takes Risperdal for outbursts and Sleep as well as trazadone for sleeping and he sleeps great (95%) of the time.

When we went through this with my youngest daughter i used my grandma's remedy.

Honey-catnip tea 30 minutes before bed. After a couple of weeks she stopped

having them. And she liked the tea (she was 3-4 at the time). doreen

My son at age 4 or 5 (he's now 22) would wake up every night. It took me months to find out why. It turns out the solution was a night light in his room and a wrist watch with a light. It seems he would wake up not knowing the time and he would get out of bed and go into the living room where there was a night light on and he could see a clock. I'd say that patient observation, finding out the key motivation for your son's behavior will ultimately solve the problem.
