Guest guest
WOW!!! that is Awesome I am Cheering with you.Angel Blessings From: <moien@...>Subject: ( ) A great step today... Date: Monday, February 8, 2010, 7:56 PM Hunter (11) asked if we could go out for supper tonite. He loves steak, and we know our favorite steakhouse is only open select nights of the week. He said "Mom, call them!" (Not even asking, thank you!) And my dear dear hubby said "Hunter, I don't have a phone book." Hunter went and got the phonebook, and looked up the number!!! It took a while, but he got it!!!! Major accomplishment #1. Then hubby says "Hunter, I don't have a phone". Hunter went and got his own cell phone and started dialing the number. Then hubby said he was busy, that Hunter will have to call. We reminded him to use his manners, and he sure did! The owner answered, Hunter asked politely, thanked him, (didn't just hang up on him) and told us what the owner had said. And proceeded NOT to throw a tantrum because the restaurant was closed tonite, and ASKED where else we could go for supper. No meltdown, no screaming, actually applying himself to find the number, using please and thankyou and speaking politely. Major, major, major for him!I was so proud of him I could have cried. Maybe I'm crazy, and maybe this is small for some of you, but this is such a step for him. I think we need to celebrate our little steps!!!!!!! !! in SD
Guest guest
I totally get the Eureka! moments, how "big" or "small" they might be. These kinds of instances fill you up with hope for the future. Hope is a good thing! "Over-optimism is waiting for you ship to come in when you haven't sent one out."
