Thank you for doing the math! I am not ready to make the financial

commitment to Bio-Kult. I am trying Udo's Adult 8 strain. It is not

enteric coated, and claims to have 12 billion living organisms per

capsule. I am using the Udo's Child strain for my 3 year old. I

notice that he is producing well formed, soft stools as a result of

taking it (we both tend towards constipation) and he is NOT on the

diet yet. For myself, the only improvement I've noticed after a week

of taking the Udo's probiotics is that the canker sores in my mouth

have gone away. (I poured the capsule into water and swished in my

mouth before swallowing). I am still severely constipated on the

intro/early stages diet, even with taking the pro-bios, so I'm not

sure that I can recommend the Udo's...

My chiropractor mentioned a human strain of pro-biotics, that better

adheres to our intestines, but I didn't ask him about a specific

brand. Is anyone familiar with this? I wonder if the Bio-Kult is

from a human strain?

Sorry to stray from the original post... In answer to " should you buy

the book? " I would say yes, it is worth the expense. If you are

someone who needs to understand the science behind the diet,

definitely. She also has some great chapters on " glue ear " (the cycle

of ear infections) and " constipation " . Be prepared to be very

disappointed with how the book is edited (very poorly!), but it is

rich with information. The author will refer you to the book Breaking

the Vicious Cycle for more details on the diet, however, most of the

dietary information is clearly presented on the website pecanbread.com.
