This little announcement was slipped into a newsletter that I get...such a

" curious " choice of words. How about DELETED, or PURGED from the list. They

really hate those words! " Released " sounds so much better than " cut. " How can

they chop over 6,000 people off their list!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Dept of Rehab Services releasing over 6,000 individuals from VR

waiting list

As of 7-15-2009, DRS has released approximately 6,200 individuals from the Wait

List. Letters are going out now to those 6,200, and DRS suggests that anyone

receiving a letter get in touch with his or her VR Counselor to discuss going

forward with individualized plans of employment.

Youth with disabilities that have not yet applied for services, and who are in

their last or next to their last year in high school, should contact the

vocational rehabilitation counselor assigned to your school to apply for

services, if you are interested in training and employment after high school.
