Any experiences you can share regarding Celexa?

I took my 9 yr old ds to the dev ped last week (first visit) and was given a

scrip for Celexa for anxiety and OCD behaviors. After reading on the web, I am

concerned about giving it to him since the FDA does not recommend for children.

(not that I am a big fan of FDA advice, or a big fan of meds for that matter

either) Dr's advise is to try it half dose (5mg) for two weeks and increase to

full dose and call if he acts suicidal. Not exactly comforting.

I find the whole thing a bit disquieting after an hr interview with me and a

cursory exam of my ds (no testing)

Everyone on this site is so great, so I thought I'd ask if any of your kids take

this drug. I think I'd feel better about it knowing we weren't alone as I so

often do until I read the posts on here and see my life played out in many of

your's.
