This research in the UK reported that 1/3 of all men under fortyy still live at

" Hotel Mum! " I knew my worries were valid!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1201828/A-men-40-live-Hotel-Mum.html

It just encourages me more to find him his own place so he can learn to take

care of himself... funny and sad article, sparked a great discussion between DH

and me too about single men and how likely they are to marry or not after

certain age,

someone in a skill but not help them get a job to make use of it.????

Summer break and is job hunting. And reading this made me realize that he IS

working hard towards that end. But it just absolutely exhausts me! He has to

have help with every little thing, and not once, but every time. I am very proud

today though, he is actually cold-calling about a dozen places to see if they

are hiring. That is hard for even an outgoing person. 'Course, he may not

remember to get a name or a number, but at least he's doing something. He's had

three interviews so far last week. And one job offer that he accepted on the

spot! And then when we got home and discussed it, he ended up having to turn it

down. Twenty five miles away, only part time, no cooking involved (he has

trained for culinary) and no chance of ever cooking...so he's still looking.

just walk out the door and get handed a job, unfortunately.? For someone with

executive functioning problems, poor people skills, weak problem solving, how

would he even know where to start?!? He wouldn't!? And could he manage the

multiple tasks required for some jobs - like working in fast food or a job with

a lot of problem solving involved??

lol. Are these mother's crazy?? lol. I wouldn't be doing their laundry.

We had this couple we knew here in town who had grown son's and they both were at home. THey were in college for years and years and years, living with girlfriends off and on at mom and dad's expense...it made us feel better. lol. At least we were discussing independing living and working towards that. These folks were not even trying. And their kids were perfectly normal and capable, no dx's or anything.

Amen, honey! My son is going to be more successful than these guys because mom

is on his " you-know-what " all the time. I haven't done his laundry since he was

14! That is one of the first things they teach them in Job Corps and he already

knew how to do it. Course there's a mile of difference between " knowing " and

" doing. " LOL
