I'm a member of a group for AHA and their site states the following : Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association (AHA), Inc. provides support and information from Montauk to Manhattan through the following: - Monthly support meetings - Internet site (http://www.ahany.org) - Conferences and informational meetings - Hotline at 888.918.9198 - Newsletter and electronic list which keeps readers informed about current news articles and research abstracts about Asperger Syndrome (AS), High Functioning Autism (HFA)and related conditions. We are a not-for-profit 501©(3) New York parent and professional group whose primary purpose is to support one another as we educate and advocate for the unique needs of children, teens and adults with Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism,Pervasive Developmental Disorders and related conditions. AHA Association runs FREE monthly facilitated support meetings: SCHOOL-AGE ISSUES: Parents and family members in SAG HARBOR, STONY BROOK, COMMACK, BROOKVILLE, BAYSIDE/QUEENS AND MANHATTAN; OLDER TEEN AND ADULT ISSUES: Parents and family members in BRENTWOOD and MANHATTAN; TEENS AND ADULTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM partnered with GRASP www.grasp.org with a facilitator from GRASP in BRENTWOOD; GRANDPARENTS in BRENTWOOD. They have a conference coming up on May 1 - geared towards older kids and adults on the spectrum -- but Elder Robison, who wrote Look me in the Eye - is the keynote speaker. Good luck ..
