I have a 47 year old man that i have been taking care of since his father died

several years ago. He has never been to a regular school and had not attended

any school from the time he was around 11. I am a school teacher and at least

taught him how to read and write cursive , count change, get a cursive signature

and several other skills. He has a great number of the behaviors of asperger

and a local man who works with this population in schools asked me if he had

ever been diagnosed with this. are there any tests out there that will help

with getting a diagnosis in an adult? His story is long and involved and when I

can get it all sraight in my head I will post it. I have worked with adults

with disabilities for many years and understand his special needs . He is with

a psycologist and a case worker that he found for himself. Anyone I tried to

get him to he was very resistant to meeting. He has mood swings and they are

better when He is on meds. Without them I cannot be around him. This becomes

difcult since we live in the country on the same piece of property. He has been

very slow in maturing and has great memory laspes. There have been on going

issues with tight clothes, food issues and so many other things I am sometimes

overwelmed by it all. I have been watching this group for a while and thank you

all for letting me know that this is not just me and how I am handling this

differently wired human being. He is very loving and has the skills to drive

and take care of some of his needs but his hopeless with housework, paper work,

and math is very basic. thanksagain for your help
