Guest guest
I think I may have found out the reason why my son responded so well to antibiotics (less stimming, wanting to be included, hugging, trying to sign, trying to verbalize, responding well to OT and speech therapy)...... In a round about way I found out about leaky gut syndrome today. After spending the last 3 hours on the 'net researching this and comparing to when/how my twin sons act - I think they BOTH have a problem with this. It makes sense to me that if the gut is leaking a bunch of toxic stuff into their bloodstreams, then antibiotics would not only clear up their infection, but the baddies from the leaky gut as well. I spoke with a woman today that lives in my city that found a DAN dr. here in N.CA. She is a client of Alta Regional and my caseworker & I were talking and I mentioned that I am looking for one. She apparently gave this woman my phone# and voila...we got to talking & tlaking some more about various protocols and she mentioned the leaky gut thing when I told her about the antibiotics. Isn't it amazing how things work out and information lands in our laps? Anyway...I will keep you all posted as to how this turns out. I haven't received ANY return phone calls (2) from the pede or the neuro (1) who is supposedly " our autism champion " ..uhhuh.
