  • 1 year later...

My daughter is 10 and I can tell you this whole school thing has its

time,, GO with your heart and instincts it is a mothers best assurance and I

have

found it to be a great tool when in doubt! Seems about every other year we

get the teacher from HELL or the teacher who just doesnt have a clue on

educating children without special needs and then they try to educate children

who

need a little extra time and direction. I like the word direction because it

really does cover what all kids need not discipline or punishment just a new

direction. But to all you moms out there feeling a little uneasy with your

child's

placement all I can say when in doubt visit often , and sporadically and

watch how the teacher is working with your child and with other children it

should

be the same. We had one teacher whom it was real obvious didnt care for kids

with ds was real nasty to my daughter but was fairly nice to other children ,

she was just ready to get out of the field all together in my opinion ,,,

should have retired around 6 years ago--LOL-- I say when you become more of a

problem than a solution time to hang up the old hat and go to a new direction.

LOL!!!! But that is just one moms opinion!! Jeanette mom to 4 kiddos and 1

especially Comical kid -- 10 who just so happens to have ds ,, Imagine if we

all had ds?? Man that would be a great world huh? We would love each other for

who we are unconditionally!!
