Guest guest
, How do I nip the spitting and make it stop? Miraim, yes my son picks often also. Is spitting and picking tourettes or part of the sensory issues? Usually the spitting is directed at the person he is angry with, like the girl in the movie. what does a homeopath do for her? supplements? I'm not even sure I know what one does. For a while, she was actually twitching all over.. just like tourettes. She'd yank her head back and open her mouth very wide and her eyes would roll, right in front of everyone. And she's in theater.. So, I saw that movie and was struck by it, as well. Right now, she isn't head and eye rolling so much and is starting other things.. it definitely goes through phases.. but we thought the ticking thing would go on forever because it lasted for nearly a year.. Now, it seems, that's worn itself out.We see a homeopath and get a lot of help, there.. but still not as easy a client as others are for our homeopath. She always takes much longer for healing or change. For the longest time, she would pick at her skin.. at any little bump or bite or anything.. and would pick and never let it heal. It was soothing to her. She's not doing that as much right now, but it goes into whatever direction or need is there for the moment. It's so hard to watch, isn't it....Love to you, miriam>> Warning Spoiler alert for movie..> > My son has decided spitting is his way of responding to stress and its > driving me batty. Guest guest
Sandy, a homeopath works in a very similar way to how acupuncture works. It is energy shifting. We are essentially, energy. And when there is something out of balance, there is an energy center or center that aren't flowing correctly or are stuck or out of synch. With homeopathy though, ...say someone has an issue that causes... we'll say, " Itchy skin. " (or whatever it might be) The homeopath will actually give, in the very smallest amount (something the body can easily fight off because it is literally close to NOTHING), something that actually CAUSES " Itchy skin. " Like the tiniest amount of some plant that causes itchy skin, we'll say... So, because it is in such a tiny amount, the body easily stands up to it, and says basically, " HUH?!! WHAT IS THAT? You cause itchy skin! I'm going to stand up against you and fight you with everything I have in me to fight off *Itchy Skin*! " It easily uses it's OWN resources to resist the homeopathic remedy, so to speak.. which in turn and (not so) " accidentally " at the same time, takes care of the " Itchy Skin " problem. The Homeopathy encourages the body to do it, itself. Instead of giving someone something that forces the change, it asks the body to use it's own magic. It does this with very simple tiny or nearly invisible amounts of solutions. Whatever causes something " SIMILAR " to the issue, they will give in a small enough form that it can be easily resisted or worked with. What is happening with the " Itchy Skin " issue, originally.. is that for some reason, the body was overwhelmed.. something was too strong for the body to fight and it gave in and became passive and let the " Itchy Skin " (or whatever issue one has) take over. The body just gave up, because it was too much to deal with. So the homeopath finds something totally different, outside the realm of what causes the problem and WAKES THE BODY up again.. giving it the courage to fight it off. Because of course with the ridiculously small amount they give you in remedy, the body reads it and say, " Oh...! Ha! Now I can definitely FIGHT THAT!! " We knocked my daughter's migraines out for the most part with homeopathy and also two of my other children's asthma issues. My husband knocked out his eczema problems and is currently healing from his own asthma. The fascinating thing is that when these physical things are energetically moved out, very interesting emotional issues come up or change, because energetically, we become new people. So, we found with our asthma family members that when the asthma was moved, they suddenly became more vocal, more courageous and more happy. With my daughter's migraines going away, she actually began to show anger. But this is understood to be " GOOD " because it was " repressed anger " that was causing the headaches. So one has to understand how energy works and shift. Now that she is able to express her anger, it isn't easy, but she isn't stuffing it inside of herself, either. Now, we take care of this next " Onion Layer " with the homeopath in working with " anger issues " , etc.. There are different kinds of homeopaths, though. We will only use Classical Hahnemannian Homeopathy. The other kinds, I personall feel are too dangerous. Hahnemannian is very gentle, pure and the original. People have spun off on the Classical ways into territories that I feel are risky. I can talk about that off line if anyone wants to know more. It's very interesting. Just a lot slower with Aspergers or Autistic or ADHD kids, because they are so much more intense and determined. ...They will often get better for a while but then resist the change of getting better and want to return to old patterns. So, it takes more patience and time. miriam > > > > Warning Spoiler alert for movie.. > > > > My son has decided spitting is his way of responding to stress and its > > driving me batty. Guest guest
My son is 8 and has aspergers syndrome. He started spitting at 3 in preschool and didn't stop until just last year! All I can tell you is repetition, repetition, repetition. We have had to remind him a million times (and then some)that he can't spit. Since he has a logical mind, we taught him health lessons and the science behind spitting and germs. Mythbusters had a great episode that he really related to. We kept smiling and offered EXTENSIVE praise for every day he got through without spitting. Thank goodness we had a great resource in the Boys and Girls Club where the Executive Director preached patience and understanding to all the other children who happened to be in our son's path when he felt the need to spit. > > > > Warning Spoiler alert for movie.. > > > > My son has decided spitting is his way of responding to stress and its > > driving me batty.
