Guest guest
We have such a hard time understanding death, let alone murder. I'm so sorry she has to experience and try to understand this at such a young age. I too can't see poem but would live to read how she expressed her feeling s on this. Thanks for sharing something so personal. On Dec 16, 2010 10:23 AM, <l8elucretia@...> wrote: Marina-- So sorry for your daughter's loss! I don't see the poem, but I REALLY want to read it!! Guest guest
Sorry, I apparently forgot to attach the poem :} From: on, Marina M SSG MIL USA USMEPCOM Sent: Thursday, December 16, 2010 10:09 AM ' ' Subject: moments of an Aspie parent Wanted to share something with you all. It’s a poem my 12 yo daughter wrote last night. She is having a hard time at the moment. Her best friend died last week (was actually beaten to death by his father). She’s having a hard time understanding it as well as dealing with him being gone. Jalen was the one who stuck up for her when she was being picked on. He was the only one who really “got” her. She wrote this poem last night. I’m at a crossroads at how I should feel about it. On one end I’m ecstatic that she is able to express herself like this and that it actually makes sense and is in the right context and format, etc. On the other hand, you can feel the grieving and confusion in her words. The grief counselor at school told her that you can talk to people in Heaven. Kaelyn, of course took this literally, so I had to explain it to her last night. Anyway, attached is what she wrote. …moments of an Aspie parent. Guest guest
Gosh, I'm so sorry she lost her friend, and sooooo sorry for that poor child!! Sounds like maybe he stuck up for himself/others (picturing him doing that and so-called father getting madder...). Assuming dad is sitting in jail where he belongs! You will have to copy & paste her poem in a post, attachments don't come through here. (didn't see it) My Aspie son writes poems too, really well. Amazing to me how well he writes too, especially when he was younger and I'd be trying to get clue as to how he was " feeling " and exasperated when he really couldn't express/tell me. He's been writing a lot lately (he's 21 now) and I worried a bit at some but am really glad he has a way to " get it out " to help. I recall in high school when a cousin I really liked died, I wrote him a letter after, said everything I was feeling/had never said, and felt much better after! Hugs to you and daughter! > > Wanted to share something with you all. It's a poem my 12 yo daughter wrote > last night. >
