Guest guest
Hi . This all sounds like very good news, aside from your X diagnosis. Sorry to hear that. As you know, my son and my Mom both had AML. survived it. We know the two cases are NOT related. I wish him the best through his treatment. goes for his check up at the end of the month. I expect a good report! In a message dated 6/16/2008 8:41:13 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, stpearson@... writes: Went to University of Chicago on Wed for 's annual cancer check. Now that we are 6 years cancer free, they switched us to a Survivor's clinic (still seeing an oncologist) and they look for long term side effects from the chemo. She had blood work, echo of the heart, and everything checked out beautifully except her TSH were high. So it looks like has hypothyroidism and we will be getting a referral to see an endocrine doc. They also said she was going to need an echo yearly (probably because of her previous heart surgery). I didn't realize that! Hearing she is cancer free is a huge relief. Yeah!My ex husband has just been diagnosed with AML leukemia and is pretty sick with infections following his first round of therapy. My poor son (19 years old) had to go through this with his little sister and now his dad. Yuk!sp
