TY Roxanna,,,we actually went through this last july,,the behaviorist stated to take her in to doc, then she ended up with upper GI,,as soon as we walked out of the doc office, she stopped, but I went ahead with the upper GI to give us all a peace of mind.

I know it is not allergies, we have checked this out too.

I guess I was wanting to see if others have dealt with this behavior too,esp since it seems our children have some different issues then NT's

( ) Pattern/Coughing

My 11 yr old dd has a cough, the pattern has ALWAYS been that when she gets this cough, which comes with runny nose ,minus a fever, lack of appetite, or lack of energy, she coughs every few seconds,,none stop until you want to scream STOP!!!! I spent yesterday with head phones on and music turned up really loud to drown her out just so I wouldn't loose it.

Last night, for about 20 minutes she literally was standing in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror coughing. My dh finally said "enough" and she stopped. Then she went to the other extreme which was hold in any cough, which makes her gag and throw up in her mouth,,which ultimately comes out on clothes, blankets etc....

How do I stop this? Do I stop this? I was suppose to go with other dd and hubby to a college tour and A was going to my parents, which she absolutely loves to do, but I can't ask my parents to handle this. grrrrr

tourette's in conjuction with Aspergers is fairly common as ADHD with Aspergers. Coughing can be a tic. I would check on it with a neurologist to be certain. One trick they told us was that if you in your head can predict when you will hear it or see it in your child it is most ikely a tic and not a physical illness symptom.
