Yes, it's normal for these kids. I have a friend whose son is ADD and ODD (15 yrs old) and he constantly wants sneakers and hats every month also. she usually gives in to it. He uses his own money, if that makes a difference. I tell her not to give in to it because he just has a temper tantrum (yes at that age)when he never gets his own way.

I, personally, don' think it's an AS trait.

I think it's a kid-thing......?

I know that my son wants to use part of his allowance for an online game.......and used to want to buy Yu-Gi-Oh cards.....(wanting more than his money would buy)....but we just said, "No". He's learning like all kids do, I guess.

Maybe, depending on the different issues associated with our individual kids, the obsessions with their wanted items becomes getting really upset, but I guess we really just gotta stick to our guns..........(which is easier said than done - ha ha).

My kids have freaked out plenty of times...........but again, I TRY to tell myself that this is a kid thing, NOT an AS thing....

Who knows?
