Guest guest
Does he have sensory issues? It might be hard for him to find clothes that feel okay on his skin. My son would not wear jeans at all last winter because he said they were too scratchy. We went shoe shopping this weekend too, and our biggest problem was getting my son to wear socks to try on the shoes (he hates socks, but will need them to play outside at preschool when the weather gets cold). Guest guest
My son, 14, won't part with his shoes until they are so worn and falling apart, or way too small and causing pain. Socks have been an ongoing hassle for many years. NO seams allowed. Underwear, we have had to chase down a particular style of Hanes, with Comfy waist band. Geting him to part with outgrown clothes is a major project too. On another thread on hygeine, I can only say " Me too! " My son's dentist and orthodontist have lectured, nagged, threatened, all to no avail. We have had a minor win on soap and deodorant. The Old Spice guy is so charming and convincing, my son WANTS to smell like him! It is good to know that I am not alone. Guest guest
Wow! This sounds so familiar! My dd can't stand blue jeans and being barefoot, etc. It extremely difficult to find clothes she can/will wear. Then there is the problem that the leggings she would always wear are made of cotton/spandex and shrink, so I buy larger ones and they never shrink the 'right' way. Everything seems to bother her bottom, so she prefers dresses but can't wear them for phy ed and when it's cold outside, etc. It gets rough...lots of wasted money on things she decides she won't/can't wear, because she can't stand how it feels--even if it's an awesome outfit she loves. Sigh. --Kari > > > > My boyfriend son 14 yrs old taking him shopping is so stressful take like 3 days to find sneakers and jeans a whole day. is this common for as child takes him half hour to try on 1 pair of jeans. > > >
