Guest guest
First off I won't cruify you for standing up for your child.Nor should anyone else for that matter.. I have had the oppertunity to know the teachers, and the school officials where my daughter will attend for several years. I have heard many horror stories about the school My 5 year old will attend. So far pre-school is going well for her,BUT I can't say I don't worry about Elelmentry or even Junior/High school. Have you tried to contact the Superientant in regards to the treatment of your child. A child with an IEP, " should be " protected againest this type of treatment. Due to being " Autstic, behaviors are different due to the disorder it's self. The child doesn't have the control to stop the behaviors. The child is being punished for something beyond their control. I agree that teachers have lost their compassion for our children. I can't tell you how many I have heard say this child needs meds,etc.. Meds can help but I am not a firm believer in meds only in extreme curcumstances. I wouldn't stop on any level for your child,I know that you are frustrated, and down right mad. But don't give up! Our children need a voice, and we have to be that voice for them. I wish that I could offer you some sort of soulution. But I am just learning about the disorder, and the complications that come with it. It's not that our children cause the complications, but people cause it. Mostly out of not being informed or having the patience or compassion that every human being is entitled to having showed to them. I wish you the very best. Don't ever give up! There is an answer someplace keep searching you will find it..
Guest guest
Thanks Dolly, my wife just found out that there is a meeting at one of the high schools tonight because they are trying to cut out a lot of programs for kids. the majority is in special needs children. how can they do these things if there is a LAW called " no child left behind ? " . if they take away the things they are speaking of (such as paras), then wouldnt that be leaving these children behind ? and then again, if the state subsidizes these programs with their money, then who is the town to take it away ? Dont you worry. I WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING. > > First off I won't cruify you for standing up for your child.Nor should anyone else for that matter..
