MONDAY ON THE EARLY SHOW

Gumbel anchors and Jane Clayson co-anchors from New York. Chen

serves as newsreader and Mark McEwen covers weather from our New York

studio.

We'll start the day with a report from Chen who will bring us

up-to-date with the latest news and other headlines from around the World.

Then we'll share a special report from Contributor Tracey who takes a

look at the great Luther King Jr. 's life and his lasting

contributions...our tribute to his leadership on his special day of

remembrance.

And then for those parents who have teenagers...a warning about a sport that

can cause injuries if the proper precautions aren't taken...Snowboarding is

one of the fastest growing winter sports...it is also a sport that while

enjoyed by many athletes also causes many more injuries than with other

sports. In our Healthwatch series, medical advisor Dr. Jordan Metzl joins us

with tips on how to avoid snowboarding injuries and still have fun.

Also another precautionary story for parent's whose children are still

school age...We'll talk with Love Canal activist, and founder of The Center

for Health, Environment and Justice, Lois Gibbs about the threat of the

unhealthy conditions, that old school buildings may pose to students because

of the possible exposure to toxic chemicals such as: high levels of lead,

arsenic and other hazardous materials that may be contained within the

structures of these old buildings.
