Guest guest
Hi,I was trying to get an advocate to come with me to school for the school IEP meeting so I signed for the ICC coordinator that the Carlson center in my area provides via Mass Health. Those services were supposed to be covered by Mass Health but The Carlson Center denied my girl of those services because I have two insurances, the primary insurance provided by my employer and Mass Health as secondary.I pay the premium for both in insurance so I called Mass Health and I was told that Mass Healthl covers ICC services. I communicated this information to the Carlson Ct, but took them four weeks to verify coverage (somebody took her/his time to call Mass Health) by that time the IEP meeting has already taking placed and I have gotten a 504 plan by myself for my daughter.Today I got the called from somebody at the center to star the services. I decided no to bother with services with them because of the fact that I needed them to help me with the school and it is too late, I got the 504 plan and I do not feel for dealing with them.Oh well, sometimes it is just better to pay an advocate that to deal with insurance services... Â You might want to check out the group Autism Treatment. Â They talk a lot about advocacy issues, but they also know a lot about specific resources in specific cities. >
