Guest guest
Hello everyone, I recently suspect that my son has AS because of lots of concerns I have. My son is three and half now. It seems that he never shows interest to other kids. His language development is delayed that kids at the same age. Ininitially I thought it is because he is bilingual kid. But recently after I put him to a new daycare since Oct 1. His behaviour is totally changed. He refuse to let me to touch him even when he went to sleep. He had bad tantrum and hit himself after he hit me. We are currently living in Canada. I've already contact a few hospitals. But there are at least 6 monthes to 2 years waiting list. So I am asking for some information and recommendation for a good private clinic in northeast of US that I can bring my child to have a diagnosis. Thanks, XP
Guest guest
I have no idea how canada works with this, but down here, I just found a clinical psychologist to diagnose him. I didn't have to go to a hospital. If you just look up your local psychiatric services, I'm sure you could probably find someone that could help you out. Guest guest
Thanks for your thoughts. I tried to find someone who can work privately to have my son diagnosis. But it is really hard. There are only four public hospitals in this area which are certified autism diagnosis clinic/hospital. I am now face the choice to withdraw or keep my son to the daycare. Also I may be pregnant now. Just feel nausea and will test tomorrow. So I am desperately trying find some clinic where is qualified to do the diagnosis process. I am fraid of second one having the same problem. That will ruin my life. So any one knows good clinics in the northeast area, please give me some information. Thanks very much A desperate mom On Wed, Oct 14, 2009 at 3:06 PM, Chambers <missjen0124@...> wrote: I have no idea how canada works with this, but down here, I just found a clinical psychologist to diagnose him. Guest guest
Also if you are into applied behavior therapy, you should find lots of private providers such as LOVAAS institute, CARDS at KKI or one in CA, which are willing to send out consultants and train you and your helpers. They usually would focus your child on one program at a time to master certain skills and have you or your helper take all the data... Just search on internet for ABA or VBA or other therapy and you should be able to find some companies. It can become costly... Guest guest
You are so smart to try to figure this out. Boston Children's Hospital and Mass General are two Excellent northeastern centers. That have child study centers. Mass General has a good website on Asperger Syndrome and Autism. You may have a wait her too. You can look for pediatric neurologist too. Pam > > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I recently suspect that my son has AS because of lots of concerns I have.
