Hi everyone,

I will try to keep this short...so here it goes...

My son is 22 and was dx'd with Asperger's his freshmen year at Cornell. He was

hospitalized because of his social cues, etc. He decided to go back last year

and did ok.

This year he had an appendectomy which was initially misdx'd and after his op.

he snapped and was committed against his will after we talked with the school.

He spent a week in the mental ward and was released in less than a week. We

visited him everyday and eve. He is home now and Wow. He is very angry, verbally

abusive and paranoid. We are doing the eggshell shuffle. He use to be so quiet

and now....he's just a very frustrated, angry young man. I am concerned about

his well being and the rest of my family. He is walking a thin line and my

husband and I just don't know what to do. He stopped taking his meds. (Lithium

and Risperdal)

( He is taking Omega-3) which is all he will comply with at least I think he is

taking it. Anyway, we are in Crisis mode thus if anyone has any suggestions as

to what we can do besides calling the police. I would be so very grateful as we

are very concerned and don't know where to turn. I tried to talk to his doc

today but I just had my son sign a release form and they have not received it

and since he's 22 they won't talk to me about him.

BTW: He does have an appt. with a therapist at the AS center after Christmas but

I don't know if he will make it until then as any little thing sets him off.

Please, if you have any suggestions..Please

Thank you for your time and understanding in advance.

Sincerely,

Shell
