Guest guest
My son says the Intuiv makes him "feel weird". He is almost 6 and I'm not sure what that means, but I know it makes him very sleepy and when he gets too sleepy he gets cranky . His impulse control is basically still zero, sadly. So with no intuiv I have a child who would run around the car and jump all day or with he is sleepy, crying and cranky. I tried him on Ritalin and it was all worse, nightmares ( terrors) etc We have done OT for 2 years now, he is a huge sensory overload kid. He is also a spitter when he gets frustrated. Ive tried GABA, DHA, D3, melatonin at night ( does help) . DHA seems to do nothing in my opinion. I guess I really want a way to help him, because his future doesn't look to promising unless I find some help. The doctors locally are just idiots ( "yeah seems he is more than ADD to me".. scratch head scratch head) He was diagnosed in October with aspergers, adhd, sensory issues, low iron, low d3. He also has asthma. To be honest he is driving me crazy... when i took him this past week to the OT he hit walls and the whole time in the waiting room, just kept banging into them, then would hurry under the tables. As I left he refused to get in the car, no matter what I did he just laughed and ran around it. when i took him to pulmonolgy he obsessed about turning water on and off and running out of the room doing a full circle around the doctors exam rooms. So he argues when I tell him anything also, if I go to help him he throws himself on the floor and begins to kick at me. How do you disciple yet still understand its his issue and be understanding, how much should I expect? seems like nothing helps... today he decided to yell at everyone so hub put him in the room and I can hear him destroying it. makes me wonder what will happen when he is 16 not 6...
