Guest guest
I gotta say that I did get teary watching the storyline. Our diagnosis is fresh (found out last month), but something we suspected for years. I remember this sinking feeling when I was told " It's obvious that he has HFA Aspergers " by longtime ASD professionals. My sons obsession as of the last 3 months is Indiana legos (not the Legos mind you) but a video he happened upon on Youtube that someone made with the Legos. He memorized the lines and we have heard them everyday all throughout the day for 3 months. That spilled over into viewing the Indiana lego website, he even dressed up like Indiana (just like the little boy in the Pirate get up tonight). He tantrums in school like the little guy tonight. He crumples up papers that he makes mistakes on , can't cut well and these frustrations often turn into tantrums where he is carried down the hall to the Principals office to have the " fit " out. The big difference is because my son is 5 and in kindergarden, the other children actually take care of him. I volunteer in his room and when he begins to meltdown they rally around him (especially the little girls), it makes me choke up seeing this. I wonder why this kind of nurturing spirit leaves as kids get older. I don't know what they will do with the character, but the first episode had enough going on to make me tune in more.
