Guest guest
It could be the meds working themselves out but it might also be that this is how he is off meds. You can try working on self-calming techniques like having him sit and deep breath, counting to ten each time, or take more walks or bike rides to burn off excess energy. Hopefully, you can get to the new doc and reassess what he needs soon. Hang in there! Roxanna May those who love us, love us And those who don't love us, May God turn their hearts And if he can't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles So we will know them by their limping! ( ) Discontinuing meds Hello. My son is currently 8 years old and has been diagnosed with PDD/NOS since age 18 months. Under the supervision of a Doctor we discontinued his Buspar last Thursday. We are doing this in an effort to reevaluate all his medications as we have been made aware of many of his previous Doctors patients were over medicated. Since last Thursday our son has been all over the charts emotionally. He goes from crying to anger and everything in between. Is this normal? Does anyone have any tips on getting through this period? I know the half life of Buspar is very short, but are these behaviors a result of the chemicals in his system re-balancing? I am basically just looking for some hope etc...
