Guest guest
Hi ! Thanks for the eye drop info. Please let us know if you end up having the lasik surgery done. I've been dying to have it done but I'm afraid. I would love to be able to talk to someone who has experienced it. Good Luck! Rivky :-)

It was an absolute miracle. I was so near sighted that I needed contacts AND glasses to see. The surgery gave me 20-20 vision. I'd worn glasses since I was 7. I wear glasses with a very weak prescription now because the MTX has blurred my vision - hopefully temporarily. in Illinois
Guest guest
I did a lasik about 3 weeks ago, on the 6th Oct.First week is a bit of a problem reading and driving at night. Now it is great. I had PA which are under control at present. About 4 years ago I was on MTX when my pain was real bad and ESR over a hundred. Today I am not on MTX, only the occasional Asprin. regards yeo > <<<<<<<<<<I've been dying to have it done but I'm afraid. Today, the aspect of >appearance is a non-issue, since glasses in many cases add greater 'sex >appeal' and professional attractiveness, as many filmstars prove to us. Its now one year since I have had the surgery done. I have no experience at all with halos, have better than 20/20 vision in both eyes, night time vision is excellent and don't require any reading glasses. In short, I have, for the first time in my life, perfect vision. However, I have not endorsed the surgery to any of my friends, including Mel. Like any surgery, it has its risks. You have to weigh the risks against the benefits for your own particular case. I suspect my own decision to have the surgery was influenced by my hearing impairment as well as near-sighted vision. I also happened to be a prime candidate for the surgery. I also suspect that those of us who have worn glasses all through our lifes and had to suffer through contact sports like hockey while wearing those old-fashioned nylon glasses (yes, I also had long hair - can you say 'Hanson brother!') are more likely to have this kind of surgery. I know personally around 20 people who have had this surgery, with one person being what i would label 'a failure'. 5% is a cause for concern, especially with your vision. As a successful surgical correction patient I would still echo Mel's concern and advocate extreme caution. Having said that, for me the benefit isn't appearance, its not having those dratted glasses or contact lessons always needing attention!
