Guest guest
Hi Friends, Just a quick note to let you know that Tallahassee has recently become infested - literally - with ticks. For the last two weeks, every time the dogs come inside, I have to check them carefully. Honestly, I have NEVER seen it this bad. I plan to use that TKO product I told you about in my hose-end sprayer tomorrow to see if it helps but I welcome any ideas on how to curb this plague. I was just washing up a few things in the kitchen and felt one climbing on the back of my neck! Just what I need - and you too with the problems we are already experiencing. No wonder Lyme disease is sweeping the southeast! Before I forget, Jeff is absolutely right about the use of natural products affecting those with MCS. My bout with chemical sensitivity did not last more than a year and now, I am rarely affected unless I get blasted with a scented product. I still have to hold my breath going down the detergent aisle at the grocery store, but I can go into Wal Mart for short periods without my brain raging out of control. I've talked to so many of you recently, I forget if I posted the web-site called www.brainrecovery.com - if not, you need to check it out. We can reclaim our brains - they are not lost forever after all. One thing I do need to be clear about - I am not opposed to the therapy that Dr. Shoemaker is using. I haven't heard everything yet about what lab testing he does, the special diet he uses or the meds, other than cholestyramine. What I said was, a while back I read an article on Dr. Mercola's website about the potential dangers of cholesterol lowering drugs and I have now read several times about how people who are " fungally challenged " tend to see their cholesterol rise. This could be and probably is a natural protective response of the body that we don't understand. But after taking a course of anti-fungals (diflucan and nystatin) by cholesterol dropped 26 points. Other people have reported similar drops so it can't be an accident. We have to get to the root of the problem before things begin to normalize in our body. Kill the fungus, eat a diet low in sugar and with hi carbs and you starve the mold out. Also keep antifungals in your bloodstream thru potent natural meds like olive leaf extract, etc. Anyone in the medical profession who is out there listening to their patients and trying to help people rather than push drugs gets 5 gold stars in my book. Take care, Barbara
