Guest guest
I asked a question about Reactive Attachment Disorder of an author Donna who wrote a blog which seemed to imply that people don't have AS but have RAD. She replied : " there's no such thing as 'Asperger Syndrome', it's generally actually these three recognisable things - Dyspraxia OCPD Social Emotional Agnosia " and went on to say there is a new view of RAD that doesn't involve abuse/neglect and pointed me to wikipedia, where I didn't see the " new version " . I thought this sounded strange from an author with autism. I saw on wikipedia something about her diagnosis being controversial. Any insights? Guest guest
ummmmmmmmmm i also couldnt find the new review of rad but if it still is cause by a lack of bond with the parent i would have to dispute b/c i have a very strong bond with my son with AS. I do not belive that there is no such thing as AS some of the symptoms are the same but my child did reach 4 me as a infant and he does try to interact with others his attemps just usually fail i think this concept is unreal and i dont think that most parents with children with AS would like to hear that our children are the way we are b/c we didnt show them enough attention > > I asked a question about Reactive Attachment Disorder of an author Donna who wrote a blog which seemed to imply that people don't have AS but have RAD. > > She replied : " there's no such thing as 'Asperger Syndrome', it's generally actually these three recognisable things - Dyspraxia > OCPD > Social Emotional Agnosia " and went on to say there is a new view of RAD that doesn't involve abuse/neglect and pointed me to wikipedia, where I didn't see the " new version " . > > I thought this sounded strange from an author with autism. Guest guest
this woman is an " autism consultant " but has no medical training. I read many blogs of people that are not convinced she has autism. Apparently she has DID (multiple personality disorder).
