Guest guest
Yes, it is normal. They have the consistency generally of cottage cheese and do not hold together. You may use milk kefir grains for fermenting non-dairy; just put through a cycle or two of water with sugar, rinsing well between.MaureenOn Jul 12, 2008, at 8:09 AM, ptmn4 wrote:My kefir grains are falling apart, is this normal? Guest guest
My understanding is that the ones that are floppy and falling apart are the healthiest ones. If one gets really big you can gently pull it apart. yes, they grow bigger and can also spawn off tiny babies. Guest guest
Thank you so much!!! I was worried. I have forgotten them a couple of times on the counter for ? days, more than two. When I went to change the milk, they were floppy, and fell apart. I have since been nervous to use them. Well, Thanks again for setting my mind at ease.
