Guest guest
I am currently in the middle of the wonderful mold experience. We had a water pipe rupture and we had hardwood floors. Subsequently, we had hygentists go to the house and to tape tests and air tests under and in the house. We didn't see the mold because it was within the walls, and under the house. But the mold has been identified as trichoderma, a rare and toxic mold. We have been evacuated out of the house, have no contents or belongings and are now facing eith complete restoration of the home, which includes gitting the entire floors, and removing all walls surround every room except the master bedroom. Our mold was the worst under the house. All of our contents have to be treated and hepavaced, which right now looks to be around the cost of about 20,000. We only have about a 2400 sq. ft house with moderate contents. My husband and I are truly contemplating donating our home to the local fire dept and allowing them to do a controlled burn and rebuilding. All of this is due to one thing, our insurnace company (Farmers Insurance) never dried the house out from the original water damage. It is a long and very stressful thing to go through. Our original water damage was in August of 2000, and I have no idea of when we will be back in our home. The one thing that you also have to consider is that now your home has been diagnosed with mold, your home has absolutely no resell value. According to the laws of Texas, and the realtors association, you now have to disclose to potential buyers if your home has ever had a mold problem. If the mold is toxic, I don't know a buyer in the world that would buy the house, do you? So, if your insurance company is covering all of this call me at 972-771-4421 and I will go over some of the things that have helped me. Thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: susiesanibel Sent: Saturday, January 12, 2002 7:22 AM Subject: [] Visible mold We have been living in this new house since October, 2000. During this time we have experienced roof leaks, window leaks, perimiter leaks, and on the inside - one toilet leak, and a leak at the refrigerator water line (we have hardwood floors at both of these areas). We have performed some tests and know we have mold - we are having the house tested next week. The only visible signs of mold is that in the area of "water & wood" the wood floors have split, "cupped" and black is coming through the wood. We live in Florida - so humidity is high. When we examined a small section of sheetrock in those areas it appeared to be clean. We are experiencing some health concerns of headache, sinus, etc. Can we have a problem in the duct work without visable signs? What type of tests should the professional perform? Thanks for all your help.FAIR USE NOTICE:This site contains copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner. Guest guest
You may be on track to your problem thinking about the duct work, but go also to the air conditioning system. For duct cleaning to be effective, the complete system must be addressed. Any mold problem anywhere in the house, such as the black coming through your floors, will release spores which are sucked into the AC system. Growth can occur on cooling coils and in the drain pan under the cooling coils. This is enhanced if the drain pan is not properly placed and doesn't drain completely. Another complicating factor is use of unlined fiberglass ductboard instead of the sheet metal used in years past. Top quality filters are required to keep dust and mold spores from the system, not cheap fiberglass filters, or even the somewhat better electronic air cleaners. Adding better filters will not help the mold already in there. This must be cleaned or killed. Check with an air conditioner supply company for a slow release chlorine disinfectant for the drain pan. ----Original Message Follows---- From: " susiesanibel " <susiesanibel@...> Reply- Subject: [] Visible mold Date: Sat, 12 Jan 2002 13:22:58 -0000 We have been living in this new house since October, 2000. Guest guest
Hi, .....I live in Arlington and my husband and I are both very sick from a huge mold problem that arose from a water leak that has been ignored by our apartment manager for 3 years. If you know of a good attorney in this area that can take our case in this matter, I would be very grateful if you would e-mail me or call. (Not during Wheel of Fortune...ha,ha,ha.) Guest guest
Betsy, Did you ever find out anything on the insurance on that property, or get a chance to swing by Tarrant County Clerks Office for Deed records to see who all owners and partners are? There may be an Arlington location. Often they use a recieving agent who is the person to serve on all court documents. The City should have a listing of that. Guest guest
Wow Bev, that's good to know!! I was wondering if you were ever going to get those back. How did you get them back? I was just so desperate to get mine out I didn't think about wanting to see them again but I'm curious. I wish we could all get together to picket...make a huge scene so we could get somebody's attention. How much is it to have Dr. Blais check them out? I wonder if it would be worth it. I mean, in the end, it's all about detoxing. I don't know though...I'm no expert but I am short of cash so for now..I'll just stick with healing. I'm sorry about your headache. Did it go away? I'm about to do another coffee enema...my aches and pains are coming back=( (I'll just have to make sure I stay hydrated this time and stick to one coffee enema per week or even biweekly...their doing something). I guess I have a long way to go still....I get so hopeful when things start feeling good that it'll stay that way=(. I'll just keep on going...chat w/ya soon. From: moodynomad@...Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2011 23:56:48 +0000Subject: Visible mold Ok girls, I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this....so I called Mentor last week asking why they haven't sent my implants back because in December I got letter saying that they looked "normal" so there was no need for further testing. Well they must have put them back in a box in sept after my explant and never looked again. So i emailed my ps and told them they were coming and to call me so i can come pick them up. well i still don't feel great to drive a lot so my DH picked them up for me last night. upon opening them there was CLEARLY mold in the valve of each implant. and a white milky ghostly thing floating in each bag. I'm just awestruck. Either they play me for a complETE fool, or they just didn't look at them after arrival. What should I do??? should i send them to dr blais? what will it really do for me to have it RE confirmed and spend more money. I'm re pissed all over again. And that's what I love about Dr. E, I showed them to her today and she said, oh honey, you need to close that back up and ship them off to canada and put that on your ps's bill! She's a fighter, she said when I don't have the strength, she will be my strength but she thinks it's not ok what they are doing to us women and something needs to be done. She even said I picket in front of my ps's office. I'm not sure how to post a pic on here but i would love to show you what it looks like..it's not like some that are full of mold, but it's there and it gives me the creeps. I was excited to see visible proof, but just defeated at the same time that nothing could come of all this mess. Bev
