Guest guest
Hi Debra, thank you so much. Would you mind sharing here or off-line to me at liztt121@... re: what tardive dyskinesia looked like, specifically. I am trying to figure out the difference between it nad tics, espically the tongue thrust movements my son has been doing. My son was nuts for several weeks in the past when coming off Risperidone. We tried Abilify, but he was manic on it. But, we have to do something, too. He had to be hospitalized last Spring, which is when he went on Seroquel. Thank you, Liz T. .. Re: Seroquel and tardive dyskinesia or tics? Posted by: "Debra Balke" dlbalke@... pianobird5 Mon Nov 8, 2010 6:23 am (PST) been there, done that. 9 year old son on Risperdal. Developed tardive dyskinesia on it. Tried to taper it and he was NUTS. TD went away off Risperdal but we couldn't live without the meds. We started Abilify and pushed the dose up high and we are able to manage. Added back in 1 mg of Risperdal with 27 mg Abilify and he can safely live at home this way. We have tried numerous times to slowly lower the antipsychotics, but it is scary and awful and we can't stop them. No TD now
