I'm not sure which brand of ZMA I tried, but it was supposed to contain

L-Theanine (from green tea) to further aid in destressing. Didn't do a darned

thing for sleep. But that was 7-8 years ago, and the dosage recommendations may

have changed. I wonder if ZMA alone works better to promote sleep than when

combined with L-theanine.

That, or a different brand may work better.

Hope you find something that works, Jim.

I started on it because Hardasnails and my self were doing Zinc with Copper 50

mgs of Zinc and it had 2 mgs. of Copper as per Dr. Shippen's book. Testing the

Copper levels we both were low Hardasnails look into this and found you can't

take Zinc and Copper at the same time the Zinc lowers the Copper. ZMA has about

30 mgs of Zinc in it and other supplements that rid you of feeling restless at

night. I stared on this and took it at bedtime. I got some Copper 2 mgs and

take this at noon works great and I don't feel I need to move my arms and legs

when I go to bed. I also take TMG 700 mgs and L-Arginine & L-Ornithine with 3

mgs of Melatonin. I don't feel ZMA helps you sleep but it helps with feeling

restless.

It can be that the compounded cream is not getting through your skin did you

stop the HCG your were taking to bring up your E2 levels. If you did this is

why your levels feel or even if you cut back on HCG. It's very hard to control

E2 levels by going up or down on ones HCG or even Testosterone. As you lower

your dose your E2 comes down and so dose your testosterone.

I find it's a small price to pay to have higher levels of Testosterone and have

to take DIM or Arimidex to keep E2 levels down. I have a problem with Creams

and Gels getting though my skin I don't get good levels on them. I switched to

shots and found my E2 levels were less a problem on shots and I was doing 150

mgs a week still my levels were only 600 to low.

It's when I added HCG that my levels came up and with it my E2 levels went up.

So I do better doing my shots of T every 3 days because I eat it up as fast as I

shoot it. And I do my HCG the 2 days each in between my T shots. Doing this

keeps me levels and holds down my E2 levels.

If I could keep my levels up on Creams or Gels I would do them but I have a

Thyroid problem and some people with this problem get a thicker skin and Creams

and gels don't work.

HAN had me cut back the hcg because we thought my E2 was too high by my

symptoms, although I didn't have any nipple problems. I quess my levels should

have been checked before the reduction of hcg, to see exactly where my E2 was.

This was a mistake, I probably was low at that time for some reason.

I'm not a fan of the god damn compounded. I'm getting steamed and I have to

settle down. I'm sorry.

Jim, I remember you posting your thyroid tests a while back and your Free T3 was

low--I don't recall if you are being treated for this; thyroid problems can mess

with *everything*..if I am recalling correctly, there may have been a need for

adrenal correction as well??...El

El, No my freeT3 was 3.3 (2.0-4.4). My rt3 was 395 (90-350). My rt3 now is 410,

don't know yet the other thyroid labs. I'm going to do the adrenal saliva again.

Right now I'm not being treated for any thyroid or adrenal issues. My adrenals

were low except in the morning.

It was suggested by HAN that the reason I'm not sleeping is because of the rt3.

Looks like your reverse T3 pretty high Jim..what are they doing for that? That

alone can make you miserable---T3 only therapy is used for this situation..also,

if you are low cortisol most of the day you can have high cortisol at night

which will make it difficult to sleep...El

This could be. I've started lifting weights after work around 6:30. Low volume

and weight. It could be that I just can't lift at that time anymore. My cortisol

could spike. I try to get a lot of simple carbs after w.o. to spike the insulin

to control the cortisol.

Anyone using tylenol PM to help them sleep? I'm not big on the acetaminophen,

its the diphenhydramine that helps with sleep.

I got an email from HAN also. I have no nipple issues, never did. This leads me

Not all men get hard and sore nipples when levels are up but most feel agitated

or have anxiety.

I may have to try working out in the morning. This is the only other time I

have. I used to love it in the morning when I was young.

Nope she has Hashimoto's thyroiditis and her Dr. just checked all of this and

the thing about RT3 is a process of ones body ridding it's self of high levels

of T4 so it is a natural process but when it goes to high it can be a problem.

But a lot of people have high RT3 and don't have a problem from it. Mine is

high due to Heart Bypass sugary a yr. ago and little by little it's coming down.

I'm just so freaking tired in the morning to workout. I don't want to return to

consuming caffiene to wake myself up. That's a vicious cycle. I'm gonna redue

the adrenal saliva test soon. I'm gonna do it on a day that I workout at night

to see if my cortisol does spike in the evening.

I don't have just problems sleeping on the nights I workout. It's every night I

don't sleep. If I can get the rt3 down this could help. I'm slowly learning how

all these things interrelate. Both fascinating and frustrating at the same time.
