SENATOR MARCELLINO TO APPEAR ON MEET THE LEADERS

New York State Senator Carl L. Marcellino (R-Syosset) will appear on Meet

the Leaders a Cablevision program hosted by June Marcley on March 4, 11,

18, and 25 at 8:00 p.m. on Channel 70. This program showcases Long Island

community and government leaders.

Senator Marcellino's legislative record touches on issues directly

impacting residents throughout New York State, and through his position as

Environmental Conservation Committee Chairman, environmental legislation

continues to be one of his highest priorities. The 2002 Legislative

Session will be no exception. During the program Senator Marcellino

discussed, the Toxic Mold Protection Act, which seeks to provide exposure

limits and cleanup standards for toxic mold. This environmental threat is

of great concern to homeowners, commercial property owners and the

insurance industry. Currently there are no State or Federal statutes or

regulations regarding toxic molds and indoor air quality. Litigation to

determine responsibility is becoming more common. In the new calendar year

Senator Marcellino will seek to rectify what is commonly referred to as

the " new asbestos. "

Senator Marcellino is a member of the Education, Social Services, Labor

and Consumer Protection committees and also discussed general education

and budget issues that are of concern in the wake of September 11 with Ms.

Marcley.
