Guest guest
Hi Jayne, So sorry that you are feeling so yucky. Could it possibly be related to a medicine you are taking? I was terribly sick from the Sulfasalazine and thought it was the flu at first. My brother reacted to a medicine after being on it for 3 years.....just a thought. Guest guest
Same with me, I took 1 g per day azulfidine for a week and felt ok, then upped the dosage to 2 g a day and felt like I had the flu for 4 days. I called the rheumy and they said it probably was the drug and to stop taking it and I would feel much better in 24-48 hours - which was true. So since I had 'failed' at azulfidine I got to move on to enbrel.
Guest guest
Hi Jayne, Better safe than sorry. Should finish the antibiotic in my opinion. I'm just getting over terrible swelling in the throat, neck, etc.. and doc tested for strep, neg. and did blood work. Decided might be bacterial infection so a round of strong antibiotic and then followed that with a steroid pack. My personal opinion is it is a flare of the Sjogren's Syndrome. Glands run amok. Same thing happened in September and was partly because of allergic reaction to Celebrex that I had taken for a few months with NO problems. You would think if you were allergic you would be allergic from day one. No dice, the lower intestinal pains and upper respiratory problems started only after taking Celebrex for a few months. An allergy can build up in the your system. The pain will pass but is awful while it is present. Maybe some warm wet towels compresses? Steamy baths? Gargling with salt water? Get better soon. Scalloped potatoes go down well. Take care, Pat B <sherman.fam@r...> wrote: > Hey everyone...I got a call from the dr that my strep was negative...now > I am really confused...
