Hello dear friends,

I am having a severe flare of both the skin and joints. In addition my throat

and voice have joined in the flare party.

I feel confident that once the Arava is

full strength in my system -- another four

to five weeks - I will feel much better.

The arthritis in my fingers, shoulders, sacroiliac, neck, and right ankle is

so

painful that I have had to begin taking MSContin for the time being. I have

tried in vain to get an appointment with

my dermatologist of over ten years -- with

no success. It seems he is booked for three weeks. I am going to call on

Monday - one last time to see if he has

any last minute cancellations-then I am going to insist he come to the phone

and speak with me. Not having use of both your hands due to excruciating pain

and probable infection in the several cracks at the finger tips and under the

nails is an urgent matter in my book. I know darn well that I need some

kenalog injections in the lesions on my hands. I am already on Zithromax

twice a day for the next two weeks for Lyme, but I don't know if Zithromax is

good for skin infections. Are there any pharmacy people in the group who would

know this?

Aside from the pain, the worst part about having a severe flare for me is the

inability to drive. I have three active little ones -- aged 9, 10 and 12.5.

They all

play basketball, and my daughter is a brownie scout. All three of them

constantly have sleepovers too, which I

put the kibosh on when I am bad off like I am right now. I wish I could wave

a wand and make the Arava work right away!

Lately, there has been a lot of activity on the list. This is wonderful.

However,

some members have expressed that the

volume of e mail has gotten overwhelming.

To solve this dilemma, I have put the address for Onelist below. Merely

sign

in and change your option to " digest. "

Then you will get only one e mail a day.

For anyone interested in topics we have

discussed in the past, this site can lead

you to the archives too.

Thank you in advance to my moderator helpers, and God Bless you all..
