Guest guest
So far so good for us too! My dd is 6th grade and we seem to have bypassed some of the "quirky" things that she has so often done at the beginning of the year. She has a "check and connect" teacher who checks with her at the end of the day to see how she is doing and if any issues are arising. We did our best to educate the teachers at the beginning of the year, and also since this is middle school, we told them of things that might come up. So far nothing!!! I keep holding my breath but at the same time this feeling of "hope" feels great and if it keeps going somewhat sane like this,,,well,,I can finally see a future for my dd. Only thing I worry about right now is how is it REALLY going socially for her. She does have a class they call directive studies,,most normally that is a study hall type class but this one has students who need to mature socially and she seems to be enjoying it. The only issue with this class is the teacher is my parents neighbor and my parents think I am somewhat hard on our dd and they do not totally get her or our struggles.....we will see how this plays out and if I need to set up boundries between them all.
