Guest guest
Work on giving it to him earlier in the evening. Like 1 hour or so before bedtime. He'll be totally exhausted by the time he actually goes to sleep and then he will sleep it off better in the morning. I notice that my son, who has been on Intuniv since Sept (?), does better if he takes it at the very beginning of the bedtime routine. If we forget and take it toward the end, it seems to give him more of a hangover effect. Then the next morning he's cranky. This seems to have helped my son, tho he is older (almost 9) so who knows.E.V. I don't know what is better, this or the hyperactivity? Please tell me if this will wear off? We are on a two week trial and I hope we can see a difference in that time. As for the hyperactivity, it has definitely calmed down. He is not a wild animal
Guest guest
My son has been on Intutiv for 2 months now, he is taking 3mg. He does best if he takes it between 7 and 7:30pm (the beginning of his bedtime routine). If he takes it later he has increased crankiness and irritablity the next day. FYI - if the tablet breaks instead of being swallowed whole the child will be VERY tired the next day and when it wears off the child will be VERY hyper. Date: Monday, December 20, 2010, 1:49 PM Our 4 year old just started Intuniv. 1 mg, last night was his third night. It knocks him out, just as dr. said it would, but he has been very moody yesterday and today. Is this normal? Will it wear off as his body adjusts? I don't know which is worse, the moodiness/tantrums or the hyperactivity we are trying to get under control?!karla

Guest guest
last night was the first night I got him to swallow it whole, the two nights prior he tried to chew it and broke it. is that why he was up 2-3 times last night??? we have not noticed an increase in hyperactivity in the evenings though, we are very pleased with that aspect of things. I am really hoping we can get back to taking an afternoon nap once the holidays are over and life gets back to normal. > > > From: jojubemom <karlakahler@...> > Subject: ( ) just started Intuniv...moodiness, cranky and hard to get along with? > > Date: Monday, December 20, 2010, 1:49 PM > > > Â > > > > Our 4 year old just started Intuniv. 1 mg, last night was his third night.
