Guest guest
It is always nice to read about you and Jan. Have a nice day! Jan's friend (and peer) came over with her Mom this morning. Jan led the three of them up one of her favorite loop trails in the park. The had lunch at English Camp which used to be a village of mostly Cornish miners who came here to work in the mercury mines here which were much safer and had more consistent jobs than the mines in Cornwall, UK. This is the first time Jan has lead a hike, but I gather that she did a good job. 's Mom new Jan before was born and we've been good friends for longer than that. is my favorite red head and a very different personality from Jan, but they are good friends when we can manage to get them together. The end of the day was supposed to be roller derby with Dave and Carol who are probably our very best friends. The event was sold out, but Dave came through and took Jan to the movies instead. She saw " This is It " for the second time. I spent the day on the tractor working on grading our back yard which has had big dirt piles for some time. Took a little time out to drive over to our community center and use the tractor to spread out big piles of wood chips they had and wanted to use to help in some of the muddy areas. Never had a tractor until a few years ago, but it is a fun " boy toy " akin the the " sandy andy " I coveted when I was about five years old. I worked alongside a neighbor with a much bigger tractor and lots of other gear who is putting in a gravel driveway that seems appropriate to our 150 year old California house. The shingles seem to be history or nearly so. Jan's meds ran out (as they should have) and she is back on no meds at all. I expect that the issues in her support will get taken care of in the future .. or, if not, we will have further discussion. Rick .. dad to 36 year old Jan who went through the pain of shingles with absolutely minimum complaint. So the moral of this story to us, parents of sons, is make sure they get the proper toys as boys, or they will seek them out as men. Safe enough for you Rick, but perhaps not for most men! We'll have to ask Santa to bring us Tonkas. Kathy, Liam's mom (11, DS, type 1 diabetes, asthma) Follow-up .. Jan today Today was a very busy day for both Jan and myself.
