Maybe it's indicative of how the meds are able to work. If the thyroid level's are off, maybe the meds are unable to work to full capacity or something like that. Once last December, my thyroid levels were a little off and the Dr prescribed something for me to take to get the thyroid back in line. He said then I'd feel better. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I am currently making plans to see a Dr. that specializes in Thyroid problems. I do not know if I have Thyroid problems but if there is a connection between the auto immune diseases and the Thyroid I would like to know. I do have a nodule on my Thyroid. The Dr. has kept an eye on it for the past 3 years. It has never grown or given my any trouble. There is a site at about.com on Thyroid problems. They talk about Fibromyalgia and Thyroid. So there may be a link here but I don't know. Lee Ann Re: [ ] Thyroid and PA From: Targa99@... Guest guest
I also have thyroid problems.. mine is called hashimoto (spelling?) thyroid.. it's an autoimmunity type in which my thyroid is destroying itself.. thyroid can cause a lot of trouble if you aren't getting enough or getting too much.. including muscle spasms/pain. I strongly recommend getting it checked because I personally feel that there is a connection with fibromyalgia (just told a month ago that I have PA) .. but from my experience and reading studies that are expermenting with thyroid levels and fibro. I saw an immediate improvement from the fibro when I had the proper dosage of thyroid meds from a specialist. Now 2 years later..(different Dr. and state) my thyroid med was reduced..and I was diagnosed with the PA within 2 months. My thyroid level is still off.. but Dr doesn't want to change thyroid med dosage. I got better from the fibro..when my previous Dr increased my dosage.. and now since my meds were decreased..I suddenly within a couple of months have been diagnosed with the PA... connection or consquences? I think some connection. Yesterday.. my Dr referred me to a rheumy in Reno.. a month from now.. and says I may have fibromyalgia (he didn't do a proper exam for it) and PA (no tests..mainly based on my symptoms and nails). At least he referring me to someone that should be able to give me a proper diagnoses and treatment.. and hopefully some pain relief. Oh and now I have brochitis too.. fun fun! Gentle hugs, Marcia
