My 3 year old's neurologist and pediatrician say that a gluten free diet will do

nothing for my aspie unless he has specific digestive issues (which he dies

not), does anyone have experience with this??

We found that to be completely untrue.See info at www.tacanow.org webpage or google search Taca Now Organization for more info.We attribute all my 'non-verbal' til 4 1/2 years old son's successes to diets: Feingold, Gluten Free and Casein Free.He is now 15 1/2 years old.-- Sent from my Palm PreOn Jan 10, 2011 9:30, mariana <mariana0225@...> wrote:

we have found an big improvement when dd is not on wheat - she is

glazed over on wheat and in her own world and just generally "not

with it" - it took a good few weeks off wheat though to see an

improvement since the body has to get rid of it all through the

system and this takes some time.  She also craves wheat and wheat

products so watch carefully for any opportunities that they might

"sneak" some wheat - even down to licking crumbs off the bread board

etc, we found in the end the whole house had to be g-f.

Just wonder what exactly youy are giving in regards to fish oil....I get so

confused on what exactly to give and what works. We take a small omega 3

supplement, but I am not sure it works. Also, what improvements have you seen?

Thanks so much!

My daughter has/had no gut issues and the gluten free casein free diet helps her behavior. She is much calmer. I've since had good food allergy testing and she is allergic to a LOT of things but grains aren't on the list (except oat which is only sort of gluten some say.) However she is very allergic to milk which is no surprise... Knew that when she was an infant. The GFCF diet also stopped her severe eczema in it's tracks. GONE. Yeah I've heard how diets are useless and then I see the benefits in my daughter AND my friend's kids. Just because there is no proof (scientific studies done well) showing that it's some sort of cure-all doesn't mean it doesn't help a lot of kids.Jen6yo DD AspieOn Jan 9, 2011, at 11:49 PM, "mariana" <mariana0225@...> wrote:

Our pediatrician told us the same thing. We tried it for our 9 year old aspie

for 3 months and saw no difference. The doc said if we hadn't seen a difference

by then, we wouldn't see a difference. So we made life much easier for everyone

and stopped. Still no change. Hope this helps.

Well the GFCF diet does not work for every child , but you cant deny the mothers that say it has helped their child severely!! What the GFCF diet was even 4 or 5 years ago , is NOT what it is today!! THey have soooo much more variety in foods , and they taste A LOT better then what they did when my sister tried it 5 years ago!! I have gone back and forth on this idea of doing the diet , One because im so selfish and dont want to give up my food! - but then at the same time i think i always feel like crap after i eat! So what if this would make me and my kids feel better? THen i think well , my son literally went from saying 5 words to over 50 in words in one week , after removing dairy from his diet! So

maybe i should take out the glutin! Its a tough call , and an even tougher task to commit too! But every day that goes by that im not doing it , i think well , would if i look back on this , and say " Shoot , i never tried the diet ,and even if it was a long shot for it to work ...... what if??? what if it would have helped my sons feel better!? And myself for that matter!SO i guess maybe im not much help because i havent tried the diet yet , but i have just started to get on this health kick , as i had a medical scare myself about a month ago , i was convinced i had cancer ( thats what i get for going online to look up symptoms, you have a cut on your finger and the internet will tell you , you have two days to live lol) I came across this website that had AWESOME reviews for supplements , Maybe someone on here has heard of them and can talk about their experience , because i really want to try them , but they are expensive!!

This is their website http://www.JigsawHealth.com I dont know if anyone would even be interested in this , im not suggesting is a cure for anything at all , but just for me personally i havent been feeling great at all lately , and i know its because im not getting the things my body needs!!!
