Guest guest
Yes! I used to have IBS and gastroparesis (slow-emptying stomach), both of which have almost completely resolved on GAPS (I've been doing it since mid-February). I had alternating diarhhea and constipation too, and I couldn't tolerate insoluble fiber. I can now, and I feel a thousand times better. That's not even much of an exaggeration! I couldn't tolerate fats at first also, so I was skeptical that I could ever handle the GAPS diet. After a short intro, which I never really did properly even, I was able to tolerate fats and slowly add in veggies and fruits, even nuts. > > Hi, > > I'm new here. I have IBS (alternating constipation and diarrhea) that is mostly triggered by insoluble fiber -- basically all fruits and vegetables, except for root veggies. Raw fruits and veggies are the worst for me, but even cooked they are a problem. I can keep my digestive issues mostly under control by basing my meals on foods higher in soluble fiber than insoluble... oats, potatoes, buckwheat, rice, carrots, etc. > > But I hate eating so much starch; I don't think it's healthy. So I'm considering trying GAPS. What I'm hoping is that after being on the introductory diet for awhile, I'll be able to tolerate more insoluble fiber. Has anyone here experienced this type of improvement? >
Guest guest
Wow, that's awesome!! I also cannot tolerate much fat, but I take artichoke extract and that really helps. But it would be great if my body could digest fat without any help from supplements. > > Yes! > > I used to have IBS and gastroparesis (slow-emptying stomach), both of which have almost completely resolved on GAPS (I've been doing it since mid-February).
