Guest guest Posted April 21, 2008 Report Share Posted April 21, 2008 Hi all, DH and i feel hungry all the time since starting GAPS also kids seem to eat more and are more hungry too. We had limited grains and dairy and weaned off the month or so before the full on GAPS. Before that i still limited grains to only a few times a week for me and kids, DH had sprouted taost daily etc. Me on the other hand could eat one meal and be fool for many hours or go all day and eat dinner and be fine til the next day. I did not eat a huge plate full with 2nds either. I was really low cal, not trying ot be but have been for yrs. Being hypo makes your body stop needing as many calories and i have been fighting with one meal a day since i was a young teen. During PG and BFing i have made myself step it up and eat more often but it is all too easy for me to fall right back into a once a day eating pattern at the drop of a dime. It was always a daily struggle to eat more. But now i am hungry while i am eating a meal, hungry shortly after a meal, hourse after. Can you say hungry - that is me! LOL. It appears to be the same for the rest of us and we are all losing weight. I needed to lose so that is okay (5'7 and 225 now 207). My DH did not really need to 6'1 and 200 now 185. My older 2 kids did not need to lose ANY at all they are both very skinny, always have been. We think low muscle tone etc... Both have dropped 5 lbs or so. My nine yr old girl of normal height is about 50lbs and my 12 yo son of normal height is about 70lbs. We are eating basically all legal foods on the GAPS minus any dairy or grains. We have a couple glasses of juicer (mentioned in a previous thread) in the morn before brkfst. We eat eggs, sometimes with beef sausage or bacon for brkfst. DH and i about 4-6 eggs each with 2-3 pieces of bacon, 9 yo eats 2-3 eggs, and 12 yo 3-4 eggs and their 2 pieces of bacon, my 2.5 yo eats about 3 eggs and 2-3 pieces of bacon every morn. We ususally have roasted meat of some sort and veggies for lunch or a big pot of bone broth soup loaded with meat and veggies. Whichever of the 2 we did not have at lunch we eat at dinner time. Sometimes the meat is a couple lbs of salmon, or about a 4lb chicken, or that in beef (roast - steaks). We have a big salad or a lot of steamed veggies - green beans, peas and carrots etc. They eat apples or some other fruit sometimes with nut butters for snack during day. We may have a smoothie as i posted about a few days ago for a snack or meal. We drink Aqua De Kefir through out the day too. We all feel hungry after eating, it is really weird especially me who was always full for the most part off of one meal and did not have an instinct to eat until about 18 hrs later. DH and i both are on 4 biok each morn and night and the older kids 3 each morn and night. My toddler i split 1 up each day - half morn, half at night. A whole morn and night gives her loose stools.
