Rough morning - a suggestion

I wonder if this would help. There is a picture

book story called The Kissing Hand and the mother raccoon kisses the boys palm

in the morning and tells him when he needs comfort or feels lonely during the

day to put his hand to his cheek and he will feel his mother’s kiss. Maybe

you two could create your own little comfort tradition before he gets on the

school bus. What do you think?

morning

My 5 yr old had such a terrible morning. He was really

emotional about everything last night and every request or demand he had was

unreasonable so when he was told no he sobbed and got aggresive. He actually

smacked me last night but not even half a second after he was saying he was

sorry. At least he knew even as upset as he was that he was wrong. I ended up

getting him to bed fine but it all started in again when he got up this

morning. Hopefully his school day goes okay. We were late getting to the bus

but they waited for us thankfully. He rides a little spec ed bus so I let the

para who rides with the kids know about his fragile state. And i just emailed

the teacher to give her a heads up. I don't like days like this. I will spend

the day carrying my cell phone in my hand thinking something will happen in

school. Maybe I should have kept him home ..... oh, its going to be such a long

day till I see him again
