If she eats grains, than try the almond flour muffins in the GAPS book. They are very nutritious and yummy (definitely sweeten them with raw, unpasteurized honey).I would recommend that once you find a Naturopath in your area, that you have a stool analysis done on your daughter. It's helpful to know what imbalances or parasites might be present. Have you started her on the probiotics? Probiotics have been essential to healing my son's gut.On Sep 25, 2009, at 7:02 AM, Lya wrote:

Hi, I'm new. My two year old is very small for her age and underweight. She has problems with all dairy, gluten and sugars, even fruit. She has mushy poos and doesn't go for days at a time. I tried to do the GAPS diet with her but her teeth started to decay while on it and she is definitely vitamin deficient because her spine is starting to curve (her butt sticks out and her feet have become knock-kneed while on the GAPS diet). I know we didn't do the diet completely correctly because she hates broth, dislikes eggs for example and has very little appetite. We did manage to do two weeks of Intro before going into full GAPS however everything fell apart when I reintroduced fruits. She became bloated and lost her appetite again. I hesitate to do Intro with her again because she is already so undernourished and I don't want to fight with her again to get her to eat the foods she hates (besides I don't think she was nourished enough on Intro because her teeth began to decay!) I have since been experimenting with the BED diet. It seems like a more kid friendly approach - with the stevia sweetened foods and such. She loves the coconut kefir and grains and will even have the Vitality drink. That seems to be a little easier for us than GAPS because I don't have to fight with her to eat some of the foods. She still has little appetite and I know she still is not getting complete nutrition. Does anyone have any advise or experiences to share. I would most love to get competent proffessional help because I feel like I am floundering.
